Month at a Glance - September 2022
Thank you to some grant opportunities, White Rose Senor Center has added an awesome Bingo system! Atlantic Bingo (Craig, Justin and Dennis), Bob Toman, and Danny Wills have added a deluxe bingo console, two 85” TVs and wiring to step our bingo games up several notches!
That being said, we have added weekly bingos onto the calendar and look forward to debuting our October 22nd Cash Bingo to the public. Tickets go on sale September 1st for $15.00 in advance/$20.00 at the door! Click below for a complete flier in English and Spanish.
Starting in September, White Rose Senior Center will be calling back all of our Rabbittransit riders! Our hours for members attending programs will be extended from 9:00-2:00.
Lunch will still be served at 11:30 for eating inside the building or take out. Please make sure you sign in and order lunches two days in advance. We want to make sure you have a meal every time you desire one!
We have two trips planned in September. One is to Pinchot with Northeastern Area Senior Center and other York County Centers on Friday, September 9th. It is called “Concert in the Park”. A band will entertain for the groups and two food trucks will be present. Picnic lunches will be ordered and brought by our staff. We will use Rabbittransit to get there and the cost will be $7.50. The event is from 9:30-11:30.
The other trip is to Shady Maples on Thursday, September 29th (9:00-2:30). Rabbittransit will drive us there and the cost is $13.50. Lunch will cost approximately $15.30. Hurry and sign up for some delicious food!
One of our fundraisers this month will be subs and pretzel sandwiches from R&K Subs. Click below for the Order Form. Sell to your friends and family to help support your Center!

We have HORSES, TURTLE RACES, and CASH BINGO as the highlights for our August activities!
Come meet Dominique, a miniature therapy horse on August 2nd and buy an Ice Cream Sandwich for $1.00!
Join us for Field Day on Thursday, August 18th. Wear appropriate beach attire for Spirit Day. We will split into teams and play the following events: Baseball, the Turtle Race, and Beach Volleyball. The team that wins the most events, will receive the Grand Prize!
Cash Bingo is back after being cancelled due to COVID for 2 and a half years! It will be held on Saturday, August 20th. The doors will open at 11:00 and Bingo begins at 12:30. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door, if available. Refreshments, Raffles, 50/50 Drawing, Door Prizes and Pull Tickets will be available for your enjoyment. This is open to the public so share with your friends and family! Click on the flier below for all of the details.

Month at a Glance - June 2022
Spring Into Summer with White Rose Senior Center and join us for many fabulous and fun programs we have planned for you!!!
There are crafts such as Tie Dye Shirts, Beach Memory Wire bracelets, Decoupage Jars and Paint and Pour classes, A wonderful grant funded “Fiber Frenzy Class” with Jef Savage and Nancy Walker from Danza Antiqua will run every Wednesday from 9:00-10:30 through mid August. The classes are free and you will make a Navajo Tapestry Weaving project, an Ojibwe Decorative Beading project, and a Colonial Pennsylvania Deutsch Embroidered Handtich (hand towel). Not only do you learn how to make these projects but you receive the history behind each of them!
We are heading to Shady Maples on Thursday, June 16th from 9:00-1:30. Click on the calendar and newsletter below for all of the details.
We are offering LOTS of GAMES, Food Programs, Zumba Gold, Wii Bowling, Music Hour, and Property Tax/Rent Rebate Assistance from State Representative Carol Hill-Evans office staff. Highmark and Aetna will be here for Table Events and Bingo!
The Farmer’s Market Nutrition Vouchers are available in York County if you are 60 years old and meet the income guidelines. Click below for the application in English and Spanish.
The congregate lunches are served at 11:30. You may choose to eat inside of the building or take your meal home. You MUST Pre-Register for your lunch 2 days prior! If you need assistance with our data base, Copilot, please ask!

Month at a Glance - May 2022
“Age My Way” is the theme for Older Americans Month in May!
WE NEED YOUR HELP with the “Age My Way: The Art of Community Collaborative Art Project” and Give Local York on May 6th!
We’re going to be working on a collaborative art project where you’ll decorate your own cube to create a group masterpiece. The three sides of the cube will be any pattern or design that is unique to you. All cubes will be joined together to make one amazing mural. Neatness is IMPORTANT. Please take your time 😊 The final project will be on display and we can’t wait to share it with you.
Give Local York occurs on Friday, May 6th beginning at 12:00 AM and runs for 24 hours, until 12:59:59 PM. This is the 5th year for the BIG EVENT in York County with over 300 nonprofits benefiting from the generosity of many donors! The goal for White Rose Senior Center is to raise $15,000! We raised almost 14,000 last year!

Please consider donating to White Rose Senior Center who supports over 1000 older adults in York County. DJ Chris Wagman will entertain on May 6th from 10:30-11:30, Special dances with a special dance floor spot, may make you a lucky winner of some cash of your own! A Bake Sale will be held so bring extra money to support WRSC! The motto at WRSC is…We strive, We progress, We Have Fun!
Besides these two big events we have other great programs planned.
A Mother’s Day Tea will be held on Monday, May 9th at 9:15 AM. All mother’s who are 60 and over are invited to attend. Please sign up the week before.
On May 10th, WellSpan Health, York Housing Authority, Broad Park Manor, and White Rose Senior Center are partnering up to bring you the WellSpan Mammography Van. This great service could make a difference in your life so please take advantage of it. To register, call 717-466-2666 with WellSpan Health!
We have Bingo with Open Systems on May 3rd at 10:00 and Highmark will be present two days in May. On Tuesday, May 10th from 9:30-11:00, they will offer a Table Event and on Friday, May 20th at 10:00, “Growing with Highmark”. Please sign up by May 13th.

WELCOME BACK TO THE INSIDE OF THE WRSC BUILDING!!! Some Bunnies Have Really Missed You!
We are so excited to welcome you back inside of the building beginning Monday, April 4th! Our limited hours will be 9:00 AM until 1:00 pm through April and possibly a bit longer. We are housed in the same building as Broad Park Manor and rent from York Housing Authority and must work together on our schedules!
