Meet Each WRSC Board Member
Alan Vandersloot, President - Alan retired in 2015 from his professional staff position as Labor Liaison at the United Way of York County, where he served for 28 years. Alan graduated from York Junior College in 1969 with an Associate of Arts Degree, and later served for three terms on the York College of Pennsylvania Alumni Board. Alan graduated from the first Leadership of York Class in 1979. He is a current elected official, serving on the West York Borough Council since 2016.
Gary Campbell, Vice President- Born in York County and raised in West York (Home of the Mighty West York Bulldogs). He currently lives in West Manchester Township. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Shadowfax, also located in York. Previously he completed a six year term as a member of the York County Area Agency on Aging Advisory Board. Gary retired after 44 years in the Clinical Laboratory at York Hospital and from the York County School of Technology as a part-time instructor in the Adult Education Department. Gary looks forward to working with the wonderful staff and fellow board members at White Rose Senior Center.
Gary La Tulippe, Treasurer - A transplant to York almost 40 years ago, Gary La Tulippe spent his business life working in the world of finance, as a financial consultant to the funeral industry, a financial analyst in the telecommunications field and most recently as founder of Schmooze Inc, a credit card processing company, which was started in 1988.
Gary sold his company to a long time employee and close friend twelve years ago and has been active in politics, serving on commissions in Red Lion Borough, involved in youth and Junior Legion baseball and working as a volunteer for many different organizations. He currently is a board member of the York County Veterans Wellness Court and the White Rose Senior Center where he serves as the treasurer and Bingo Caller whenever the games are scheduled.
Gary and his wife Michele, also deliver Meals-On-Wheels for the senior center. They live in Red Lion and have 7 grandchildren to keep them occupied.
Beth Kehler, Secretary - Beth is a life long resident of York County. She retired from the York County Area Agency on Aging after 37 years of serving the older adults in York County. She spent 23 years in direct and supervisory care management and 14 years as Director of Public Relations and Advocacy. She also played an active role in the development of the York County Senior Games and served as the Coordinator for 14 years. Beth believes in the importance of Senior Centers knowing that successful aging is more likely when individuals are actively engaged in life. She feels the White Rose Senior Center is one of the most diverse and friendly places offering programs and services that promote active engagement and enjoyment of life by older adults. Beth and her husband, Steve, enjoy spending time with their four adult children and seven grandchildren.
Pat Kehr, Director - Pat was born in York, has two sons, two granddaughters, two grandsons, and three great grandchildren. She attended the York City School District. Pat obtained her Real Estate License and owned a Property Management Company for many years. She is the Vice President of the Civil Service Board of the York City Police and Firefighters. Pat joined White Rose Senior Center as soon as she turned 60. In retirement, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family, friends and 5 cats. She has followed NASCAR for many years. She met Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and had him sign her left shoulder. She then drove 9 hours back to York and had it tattooed over the signature!
Pedro Febres, Director -
John Senft, Esquire, Director - Born and raised in York, John L. Senft founded Senft Law Firm, LLC with his father in 2004. A graduate of Duke University and the University of Virginia School of Law, John has practiced as an attorney for nearly 30 years, specializing in estate planning and administration, corporate and business law, real estate, and labor employment law. He has provided legal services to individuals and employers of all sizes throughout Pennsylvania and Maryland.
John is an active member of the community and is a past recipient of the “40 Under 40” Award, given to community and business leaders in Central Pennsylvania. In addition to being on the Board of the White Rose Senior Center, John has served on a variety of boards and committees in the area, including Martin Library, York Country Day School, Big Brothers - Big Sisters, the Lafayette Club, the Jewish Community Center, Communities that Care, and the York County Cultural Alliance. He coached soccer for more than a decade.
John and his wife Lisa recently celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary. They are the proud parents of three children, Natalie, Maggie and Owen. They also have two dogs, two cats, and two birds in their noisy house. In his spare time, John enjoys traveling, going to the beach, rooting for the Baltimore Ravens and Orioles, playing tennis and golf, watching movies, reading, evening walks in his neighborhood, and working in his yard.
Roger Guttridge, Director - Raised in Northwest PA; Served in the U.S. Army (Infantry); Graduated from Edinboro University; 41-year career in banking; York Township Commissioner for eight years; member of the Loan Committee and Board of Directors of the EDC Finance Corporation.
Michael Wagner, Director -
James Sawor, Director - James has a history of work in fields that require direct care and personal service. Currently the Chief Staff for a State Representative and District Office Director for the PA House of Representatives, James has worked to vastly expand services to the public that were not previously offered. Having spent the last six years serving the students of the School District of the City of York as a School Director and chair of the finance committee through years of growth and prospering, he feels confident the experience will help him relate as a Director of WRSC. He will closely monitor the financial picture of the organization, while advocating for growth in services. Having served on numerous other non-profit organizations, he is confident his experiences will help market WRSC as the central hub and innovation center for seniors in York County. As a Master of Public Administration, James has learned budgeting, marketing, service, and personnel management among other skills at high level. James is pleased to see WRSC already serving the most seniors of any location in York County, operating through state crises, abiding by mandatory requirements, on positive financial ground, and managed with highly experienced staff. He encourages you to support the center financially and through your volunteerism.
