Happy Easter Everyone! It’s a new month, a new growth of flowers and greenery, baseball season begins, National Walking Day is April 7th, so come get a pedometer to mark your steps, and more people are getting vaccinated so we can hopefully return to some type of normalcy over the next several months. If you are still looking for a vaccine, read further below for some helpful vaccine information and transportation to a vaccine location for yourself or a loved one!
April 1st kicks off the opening day of baseball so White Rose Senior Center wants to join in the fun too! Share a picture of your favorite baseball team apparel on the White Rose Senior Center Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/White-Rose-Senior-Center-239749906468113)
We are bloomin’ with many craft projects such as the Cherry Blossom Tree Decorating Challenge Contest, a Magazine Art Collage Challenge, several virtual art classes via Zoom with Brianna Heck from Kutztown University, and Spring Craft Kits. We are offering a Seed Starter Competition. We will provide you with kit on April 12th for $1.00 and you bring your starter kit back on May 12th for judging of whose plant is growing the best!
We have many virtual programs and are again partnering with other York County Senior Centers to share their activities. You are more than welcome to check them all out and join in their fun too! Click HERE to see the York County Senior Center Virtual Programs.
Give Local York will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 from 12:00 AM-11:59:99 PM. This is a big fundraiser for White Rose Senior Center. Our goal is to reach $15,000 and we need your help! The staff has completed “Challenges” in the past once a certain amount of money was raised. This year we have included the “Challenges” to be from staff and volunteers with the theme based on a carnival! Our excellent volunteer, Brian White from Broad Park Manor, has agreed to participate in a Dunk Tank! Now we know you want to come out and dunk him while raising lots of money for WRSC! Details will be posted in the near future on the staff challenges! To donate to White Rose Senior Center, click HERE to go directly to Give Local York on May 7th!
